Artek-MCP runs inside the gateway as one signed Java module. Nothing extra to deploy, nothing to write before it's useful.

Security model

Read-only by default, and honest about what that means.

The defaults are the safe ones, and the docs say plainly where the limits are.

Write tools ship disabled. readOnly is on by default, and the allowlist blocks everything until you add to it.
Authenticated at the edge. API key, or OAuth bearer tokens when you enable them.
Every call is logged on the gateway.
Read-only is not secret-safe. A valid key can read project source, tag values, audit records and the user list. Treat any key like a gateway credential.
Write-enabled means admin authority. Turn off read-only and a caller can write resources the gateway then runs. We say so up front.
No telemetry. The module never calls home. It only talks to endpoints you set.

Run sha256sum Artek-MCP.modl and match it to the value above. The Gateway also checks the signature and rejects a changed file.

Install

Four steps.

Download the .modl and verify its SHA-256.
In the Gateway, go to Config → Modules, choose Install or Upgrade a Module, and upload the file.
Read and accept the End User License Agreement the Gateway presents. The module will not run until you do.
Open the module's settings page, generate an API key, and point your MCP client at /data/artek-mcp/mcp.

Installing headlessly through modules.json? The entry needs a licenseAgreementHash (the CRC32 of license.html inside the modl) or the gateway stalls in commissioning.
